my529 fees are some of the lowest in the 529 industry.
my529’s asset-based fee structure has two parts:
- The Operating Expense Ratios of the underlying investments
- The my529 Administrative Asset Fee
Added together, the Operating Expense Ratio of each underlying investment and the my529 Administrative Asset Fee make up the total annual asset-based fee for your client’s my529 account.
The combined total annual asset-based fee ranges from:
|Age-Based Investment Options||0.169 percent to 0.202 percent|
|Static Investment Options||0.150 percent to 0.196 percent|
|Static Investment Options
|0.000 percent to 0.196 percent|
|Customized Investment Options||0.200 percent to 0.593 percent|
Operating Expense Ratios
Vanguard and Dimensional charge an Operating Expense Ratio for each underlying fund.
Depending on which investment option your client selects for his or her account, the expense ratios range from:
|Age-Based Investment Options||0.009 percent to 0.042 percent|
|Static Investment Options||0.020 percent to 0.040 percent|
|Customized Investment Options||0.000 percent to 0.393 percent|
The expense ratio fees do not appear on your clients’ quarterly statements because Vanguard and Dimensional deduct them from the applicable underlying fund. The performance and market values of an account containing Vanguard or Dimensional include the deduction of any fund expense ratios.

The Public Treasurers’ Investment Fund charges an underlying expense ratio of 0.005 percent, which my529 pays.
There is no underlying expense ratio assessed on FDIC-insured accounts.
Administrative Asset Fee
The Administrative Asset Fee is an annual fee charged by my529 against your client’s account.
The Administrative Asset Fee is 0.110 percent to 0.200 percent, depending on which age-based, static, or customized investment option your client selects for his or her account:
|Age-Based Investment Options||0.160 percent|
|Static Investment Options||0.110 percent and 0.160 percent|
|Customized Investment Options||0.200 percent|
The fee is waived for Utah residents who invest in the Public Treasurers’ Investment Fund.
