The Utah Educational Savings Plan is now my529
After more than 20 years as the Utah Educational Savings Plan (UESP), we became my529 on February 5. Only the name has changed. We remain the same organization, committed to providing advisors and their clients the premier educational savings plan experience.
Account balances and investments were not affected by the transition, and firm and client account information is intact. You are now managing accounts via advisor.my529.org, which features the same look and functionality. Searches for uesp.org or advisor.uesp.org will be redirected to my529.org or advisor.my529.org, respectively.
my529 will continue to accept UESP forms until September 30, 2018, at which point only my529 forms will be accepted. Please shift to the new forms as soon as possible.
Why the name change? The name my529 broadens our appeal—anyone can invest or be a beneficiary with my529, not just Utah residents. Beneficiaries are not—and have never been—restricted to schools in Utah. Funds can be used at any eligible educational institution nationwide or abroad, as long as the school is eligible for federal financial aid.
